Terms of Use.
Memoora is a platform built on mutual respect and digital guardianship. Our terms are designed to be as clear as our commitment.
1. Eligibility and Account
By creating an account on Memoora, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@memoora.app if you suspect unauthorised access. Memoora reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
2. The Service
Memoora provides a personal digital archive to preserve, organise and rediscover memories through text, photos, audio, video and documents, with AI assistance. The service is provided 'as is' and may evolve over time. We will give you reasonable advance notice of any material change that affects features you use. Service availability is subject to occasional scheduled maintenance.
3. Your Content
You are the sole owner of all content you upload or create in your archive. By using Memoora, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence solely to store, process and display that content for the purpose of delivering the service. No rights are granted to Memoora for advertising, commercial or AI model training purposes. By uploading content that includes data about third parties, you represent that you have a lawful basis for doing so under GDPR.
4. AI Processing and Sub-processors
When you use the Memory Assistant, text-to-speech (TTS) or transcription (STT), excerpts of your content are sent to OpenAI, Inc. as a data sub-processor under our API agreement. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models and deletes it within the timeframes set in its retention policy. Memoora uses OpenAI models (GPT-4o-mini, TTS-1, Whisper) exclusively to generate responses and features within the service. You may choose not to use AI features without affecting other parts of the service.
5. Subscription and Payments
Memoora offers subscription plans whose prices and features are detailed on the pricing page. Payments are processed securely by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges according to your chosen plan. You may cancel at any time from your profile; access to your plan remains active until the end of the billing period. We do not issue refunds for unused periods, unless required by mandatory consumer protection law.
6. Prohibited Uses
The following are strictly prohibited: (a) using Memoora for illegal purposes or in violation of third-party rights; (b) uploading content that infringes intellectual property rights or is harmful; (c) attempting to access other users' accounts or compromise platform security; (d) using automated tools, scrapers or bots to extract data; (e) uploading data relating to minors under 18 without being their legal guardian and having explicit legal basis. Violations may result in immediate account suspension.
7. Limitation of Liability and Governing Law
We take all reasonable precautions to protect your data, but Memoora cannot guarantee uninterrupted service availability or the absence of technical failures. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Memoora shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service. We recommend using the export tools to maintain your own backups. These terms are governed by the laws of Spain and disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
8. Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible: all your memories, uploaded files and personal data will be erased from our systems within 30 days, in accordance with GDPR Article 17. If you hold an active subscription, it will be cancelled immediately upon deletion — no refund will be issued for the unused portion of the billing period. If you wish to obtain a refund, you must cancel your subscription first from the Subscription tab and wait for the current period to end before deleting your account. Data shared with third-party sub-processors (OpenAI) is subject to their own retention policies.
A Living Document
These terms may be updated to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of Memoora after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For questions, write to us at hello@memoora.app.
